The U.S. Army intends to award Barrett Firearms Manufacturing Inc. a proposed sole-source, five-year firm-fixed-price requirements contract for the purchase and delivery of the Multi-Role Adaptive Design (MRAD) MK 22 Precision Sniper Rifle, accessories, spare parts, special tools, and training. The Army states that the MK 22 is the only product identified through market research as meeting Purchase Description PRFJXNL-F18-0090, and that competing production items would cause substantial duplication of costs. This is a presolicitation notice, not an RFP. Responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation for the agency's consideration by the notice's closing date; the Government retains discretion over whether to compete the proposed action.
