Description
The Army is conducting market research to identify domestic sources capable of manufacturing M284A2 and other 155mm cannon tubes, including the M776. Respondents are asked to describe their recent manufacturing experience, production processes and equipment, subcontractors, monthly capacity, projected availability, material sourcing and processing, and capabilities for machining, rifling, autofrettage, and coatings. The tubes must meet U.S. Government technical data specifications and may be up to 30 feet long. Responses should also address how domestic production capacity could be increased to as many as 10 tubes per month within 36 months and provide a not-to-exceed rough-order-of-magnitude estimate for an initial quantity of 40 tubes. This is a sources-sought market survey for planning purposes, not a solicitation or commitment to award a contract.
