Description
Dallas Area Rapid Transit is soliciting sealed offers from qualified firms or individuals to provide a full-turnkey, computer-controlled, double-ended, dual-cylinder, horizontal-acting wheel press with a minimum 600-ton pressing capacity. The system must mount and demount components on light-rail wheelset assemblies and include all required components, tooling, fixtures, adapters, hydraulic assistance, axle positioning, controls, software, and wheelset support equipment. The equipment must use nonproprietary components and support at least five mount or demount operations during a seven-hour shift by one operator, with a useful service life of at least 40 years. The scope includes design, manufacture, delivery, installation, testing, commissioning, employee training, documentation, warranty, spare parts, and lifecycle support. Proposals must include the required exhibits and certifications, subcontractor information, bond-capacity statements, technical and pass/fail responses, qualifications and references, staff information, work plan, technical compliance information, lifecycle-support plan, and PDF and Excel pricing submissions. Amendment 1 changes the site visit date to October 12, 2026 and requires acknowledgment with the offer; other solicitation terms remain unchanged.
