Description
Fisheries and Oceans Canada requires laboratory processing of approximately 200 to 250 herring samples per year from commercial fisheries, test fisheries, and research activities. For each fish, the contractor must record biological measurements and observations, collect a scale for age determination, prepare scale slides, and enter sample and biological data into the department-provided MS Access database. The work also includes quality control, daily electronic backups, weekly delivery of scale slides and original sample labels during processing, and returning cleaned sample buckets. The contractor must provide a laboratory facility, equipment and materials, and a two-person team consisting of a project manager and sampling technician. Processing is expected annually between March 1 and May 15, with completion by May 15. The contract has an initial period through February 28, 2027, and up to four one-year options. The maximum available funding is CAD 285,000, excluding applicable taxes. Only Canadian suppliers are eligible.
