The Mississippi Department of Human Services’ Division of Child Support Enforcement seeks two full-time contract attorneys. Duties include responding to public records requests; drafting and reviewing contracts, policies, agreements, and RFPs; pursuing child support liens; conducting legal and legislative research; reviewing cases; monitoring courts; overseeing IRS compliance; and supporting system modernization, analysis, testing, and training. Other related duties may be assigned. Applicants must be active members in good standing of the Mississippi Bar and have professional writing and oral communication skills and proficiency with common office software. A Juris Doctor is required; child support enforcement and attorney experience are preferred. The contract is compensated at $36.05 per hour, with no overtime or fringe reimbursement; compensation includes administrative costs and travel. In-state travel is required.
