Description
This invitation to bid covers replacement of the existing 250 kW diesel emergency generator and transfer switch at the Morris Community Corrections Center with a new natural-gas emergency generator integrated into the facility's existing electrical distribution system. The work includes associated electrical, mechanical, natural-gas piping, demolition, concrete, grounding, controls, power-system studies, temporary services, testing, and closeout activities. The project also requires a temporary generator while the existing generator is out of service, coordination with an occupied correctional facility, security clearances and controlled access, prevailing-wage compliance, subcontractor listings, a notarized non-collusion statement, drug-testing and contractor-qualification affidavits, and bid security equal to 10% of the bid amount plus additive alternates. The successful contractor must provide 100% performance and payment bonds and comply with the facility's security procedures.
