Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking Architect/Engineer qualifications packages, rather than a conventional request for proposal, from certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses for the renovation of specialty clinic and support space on the second floor of Building 1 at the Beckley VA Medical Center. The project will evaluate approximately 58,853 square feet of existing floor area and renovate approximately 16,530 square feet to create updated outpatient clinics, a central check-in and waiting area, improved wayfinding and traffic flow, appropriately sized exam rooms, and accessibility accommodations. The selected firm must provide multidisciplinary design services, including schematic design, life-cycle cost analysis, design development, construction and bid documents, specifications, cost estimates, interior design, structural, civil, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection, industrial hygiene, surveying, physical security, infection-control planning, phasing, utility coordination, and construction-period services. Services include extensive field verification, design reviews and charrettes, at least 48 site visits overall, construction administration, shop-drawing and submittal review, RFI responses, inspections, and preparation of as-built drawings. The design must remain within the stated $19,912,000 construction budget and include 10% deductive bid alternates. Responses must be submitted as SF 330 Parts I and II in a single Adobe PDF, with the required firm information and SDVOSB certification documentation.
