The Washington State Department of Agriculture intends to award AB SCIEX LLC a sole-source contract to support one AB SCIEX QTRAP 6500+ mass spectrometer used for regulatory residue and chemical testing. The work includes annual preventive maintenance, OEM calibration routines, proprietary software updates and troubleshooting, and access to restricted factory replacement parts. The justification states that the instrument depends on proprietary diagnostic telemetry and specialized ion optics, and that no independent third-party service providers are authorized to perform the work. The contemplated term is a one-year contract, with up to three additional one-year extensions. The legal notice lists a contract cost of $46,690.42.
