Middlesex County is seeking unarmed security officer services, which may include the use of pepper spray, for the George J. Otlowski Sr. - Center for Mental Health Care located at 570 Lee Street, Perth Amboy, NJ 08861. The center serves approximately 2,200 patients daily across nine floors in three buildings totaling 46,000 square feet. The services require two security officers to be on duty at all times during operating hours, with one stationed at the main security desk and the other patrolling the facility. Duties include monitoring security cameras, managing access control for visitors, responding to alarms, securing the facility at closing, and assisting emergency responders. Officers will also be responsible for daily deposit drops and mail drop-offs. The contract is for a base period of 12 months, with two additional one-year option terms. Vendors must comply with all New Jersey state requirements for security officers, including licensing, training, drug screening, and criminal background checks. Bilingual Spanish-speaking officers are preferred.
