The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth District, is offering a cooperative agreement to an eligible member of the Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Units program in the Californian or Pacific Northwest Regions. The recipient will conduct nearshore marine fish surveys in Sinclair Inlet using boat-based beach-seine methods, with emphasis on sub-yearling juvenile Chinook salmon. Work includes project coordination, field sampling during two outmigration seasons, scientific collection permits, collection and transfer of up to 10 percent of tagged juvenile Chinook, data analysis, and coordination with Navy personnel. Required deliverables include progress reports, field data and geo-referenced photographs, GIS files and databases, a draft final report, and a final project report comparing results with the 2006 Fresh et al. study. The project has a 30-month base period, with fieldwork planned for February through June of 2027 and 2028. The maximum available funding is $207,847, and the indirect cost rate is capped at 17.5%. Eligible recipients and proposed subrecipients or contract vendors must have a current NIST SP 800-171 Department of Defense assessment.
