Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs is conducting market research for existing property to lease and renovate into approximately 17,660 net square feet of biomedical research laboratory space (22,958 rentable square feet). The proposed space must be contiguous within one building and support six laboratory teams, shared equipment and support areas, and limited animal and aquatic research facilities. The draft requirements describe substantial laboratory infrastructure, including controlled ventilation, fume hoods, specialized utilities, emergency power, access controls, safety systems, and dedicated microscopy space. The lease term may be up to 10 years. Respondents are asked to provide property and ownership/control information, location and access details, zoning and floodplain evidence, transportation information where available, utility availability, and relevant property or development experience and pricing. This is a sources-sought market research notice, not a solicitation for offers; the agency is seeking information from property owners, landlords, lessors, and their legal representatives to inform a possible future procurement.
