This Request for Information seeks sources capable of manufacturing, testing, and delivering a rugged, modular Radiological Detection System consisting of a central handheld base unit and detachable, interchangeable probes. The system is expected to detect and measure alpha, beta, neutron, gamma, and X-ray radiation; provide a sunlight-readable display, data logging, tactical-radio connectivity, overload protection, accurate measurement, standard calibration compatibility, and interoperability with current and previously fielded system components. Proposed systems should support military field and shipboard use and meet or align with the applicable performance specification, including compatible user interfaces and physical controls. Respondents may address the complete system, the base unit, or specific probes and may propose modified existing systems, commercial off-the-shelf solutions, or new designs. Responses must describe the technical approach, required engineering and production modifications, proposed configurations and detection technologies, production history and capacity, testing and delivery schedules, pricing assumptions, licensing for radiation check sources, and data-rights considerations. The anticipated future requirement may involve one or more five-year firm-fixed-price indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contracts, with projected quantities including 16,000 base units and multiple probe types. Access to the controlled performance specification requires specified JCP, NIST SP 800-171, CMMC Level 2, and safeguarding compliance evidence.
