Description
Sarasota County is soliciting sealed bids for a construction contract to resurface Bahia Vista Street and various North County roadways. The work includes milling and paving existing surfaces, roadway striping, signage updates, ADA compliance modifications, traffic-signal vehicle-detection loop replacements, and base repairs. Bidders must satisfy the stated qualification requirements through demonstrated experience or applicable Florida Department of Transportation work-class prequalification. Required experience covers hot-asphalt plant production, flexible paving, pavement marking, and traffic signals; the bidder itself must also demonstrate at least one commercial, industrial, or government project with a total contract amount of at least $2,000,000. References must have been successfully completed within the seven years preceding bid opening. The project must reach substantial completion within 300 calendar days, beginning on the date stated in the Notice to Proceed or within 45 calendar days of award, whichever occurs first. A letter of bondability showing at least $1,000,000 in bonding capacity is required, and performance and payment bonds of 100% of the contract or work-assignment amount apply to bids of $200,000 or more. Addendum 2 revises Attachment D plans and extends the question deadline to September 4, 2026, at 2:30 PM; the September 16, 2026, bid deadline remains unchanged.
