Description
Milwaukee County Parks seeks a proposer to operate a commercial business in the Bender Park pavilion concession area. Potential uses include a concession site, watersports or aquatic equipment rentals, and a store such as a bait shop. The operator must provide the equipment, supplies, infrastructure, and experienced staff needed for its proposed business, maintain the service area, and keep the public restrooms clean. Proposed operating hours require Parks approval; the facility generally operates seasonally from approximately Memorial Day through Labor Day, weather permitting. The selected proposer will pay the County under a proposed fee structure for an initial five-year lease, with two one-year extension options. Proposals should describe the business concept, products or services and pricing, operating and marketing plans, qualifications, and any proposed infrastructure improvements. Watercraft operations require a pier and storage shed, subject to County approval; aquatic rentals may also require buoys. The operator must comply with applicable permits and licenses, County concession requirements, and the County's policy to reduce single-use plastics and polystyrene foam.
