Description
The Kent County Road Commission is soliciting bids for the supply and delivery of 26% liquid sodium chloride for its 2026–2027 winter-season requirements. Quantities will be ordered as needed, with an estimated requirement of approximately 150,000 gallons delivered in 4,000- to 5,000-gallon truckloads to designated storage tanks at the Central Complex in Walker, the Southwest Complex in Byron Center, and the City of Walker facility. Deliveries must generally occur within 24 hours of an order during specified weekday hours, and the material must meet stated concentration, alkali-salt, magnesium, and weight specifications. The bid price must include delivery and pumping into storage tanks, as well as rental and delivery of one 20,000-gallon Frak Tank for the Southwest Complex during each contract year. Bidders must complete the provided Bid Pricing Sheet and questionnaire, including information about prior 26% sodium chloride deliveries, supply source, plant location, trucking subcontractors, response time, delivery capacity, fleet, and Frak Tank details. The initial contract covers the 2026–2027 winter season, with a mutually agreed one-year renewal option for 2027–2028. Insurance coverage and a certificate naming the Kent County Road Commission as an additional insured are required after award.
