Description
The Maine Department of Transportation is soliciting bids for the complete installation of five new Road Weather Information System stations in South Berwick, Auburn, Fairfield, Greenbush, and Macwahoc. The work includes furnishing, installing, configuring, integrating, and testing weather sensors, pavement sensors, subsurface probes, CCTV cameras, controllers, communications equipment, cabinets, lightning protection, grounding systems, and related hardware. The contractor must provide electrical service connections, wood poles, conduit, pavement sawcutting, traffic control, utility coordination, system integration with MaineDOT's New England Compass Advanced Transportation Management System and Road and Weather software, testing, training when applicable, warranties, and maintenance support. The project includes an interim operational-testing milestone of December 10, 2027 and a contract completion date of April 7, 2028. Bidders must satisfy MaineDOT prequalification or subcontracting requirements and demonstrate recent relevant RWIS, intelligent transportation systems, traffic-control, and system-integration experience.
