Description
The City of South San Francisco is soliciting bids from five prequalified and shortlisted general contractors for construction of a new approximately 10,150-square-foot, two-story fire station at 71 Camaritas Avenue. The facility will include a three-bay apparatus garage, emergency-response and operational support spaces, firefighter dormitories and living quarters, offices, training and exercise areas, and related communications, security, fire-protection, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and standby-power systems. The scope also includes demolition and site development on approximately 1.07 acres, including grading, utilities, stormwater drainage and treatment, parking, apparatus driveways, electric-vehicle charging, sidewalks and accessible paths, fencing and gates, landscaping, irrigation, lighting, and a covered trash enclosure. The project is subject to California prevailing-wage requirements, requires a valid California Class B contractor's license, and requires a bid security equal to at least 10 percent of the total bid. The successful contractor must provide 100 percent performance and payment bonds and the insurance required by the contract documents. The contract duration is 600 consecutive calendar days from the Notice to Proceed, followed by Final Completion within 30 calendar days after Substantial Completion.
