Description
The Montana Department of Transportation is seeking consulting services for bridge studies, vehicle weight analyses, and related structural evaluations at locations throughout Montana. The selected consultant will perform bridge load ratings for overweight permit loads using MDT models, the latest AASHTOWare Bridge Rating program, and applicable bridge evaluation standards; evaluate maximum vehicle weights and varying travel conditions; support motor-carrier permitting; and develop bridge-specific models when needed. The work will be assigned on an as-needed basis, with typical bridge-study responses expected within three to five business days. The consultant must provide qualified personnel, software, equipment, quality-control procedures, supporting analysis documentation, and monthly documentation submissions. Montana professional engineering licensure is required at proposal submission, and the prime consultant is generally expected to perform at least 50% of each task. MDT anticipates one approximately $2.5 million agreement for January 2027 through December 2030, with possible extensions subject to a five-year maximum. Proposals are limited to ten pages, excluding required appendices, and must include team qualifications, approach to task assignments, resumes, the MDT cover page form, and at least five similar contracts from the past three years.
