Description
The Village of Islamorada is soliciting proposals from qualified individuals, firms, and companies to develop and operate a certified swimming program for adults age 18 and older at the Ron Levy Aquatic Center at Founders Park. The program must provide private and group lessons for adults of all swimming abilities and experience levels, along with swimming instruction and coaching, dryland fitness instruction, clinics, camps, swim meets, and other program-related events. The contractor will manage program marketing, development, and participant recruitment; oversee operating and ancillary costs; hire additional certified instructors with Village approval; coordinate registrations and fee collection with the Village; and pay applicable facility fees for special events and other activities outside regularly scheduled lessons. Proposals must address the requested approach, class offerings, fee schedule, target market, marketing strategy, relevant experience, references, certifications, and other eligibility documentation. The resulting contractor will receive 90% of collected lesson fees, and services are expected to continue through September 30, 2027, with an option for annual renewal. Addendum No. 1 confirms that a company may submit using named certified coaches and instructors on its team; assigned pool instructors must hold the certifications required for their duties. It also requires an anticipated schedule in the proposal and clarifies that a Monroe County business tax receipt is not required before proposal submission. A public bid opening for RFP 26-10 will occur on September 18, 2026, at 3:00 p.m.
