Blount County Board of Education is seeking qualified general contractors for two projects at Susan Moore High School: construction of a new stadium and track-and-field facility with an eight-lane, 400-meter track and event areas for discus, shot put, long jump/triple jump, and high jump; and renovations to the fieldhouse and concession stand, including work on three existing buildings, masonry cladding, restroom demolition and construction, and concession-area improvements. The track-and-field project also includes site planning, landscaping, plumbing, and electrical infrastructure. Bids must be submitted on proposal forms furnished by the architect or issued by addendum. A cashier's check or bid bond payable to Blount County Board of Education, equal to at least 5% of the proposal amount but not exceeding $10,000, must accompany each proposal. Performance and payment bonds and evidence of insurance will be required at contract signing. General contractors exceeding the applicable Alabama licensing threshold must hold the required state license and display the current license number on the sealed envelope.
