Description
The project involves construction of two wildlife viewing platforms at Ted Harvey Conservation Area. The platforms will be elevated approximately seven feet above the landscape and connected to parking areas by approximately 100-foot ADA-accessible walkways. The platforms and walkways will use composite decking on treated-wood framing supported by helical piles, with concrete-accessible parking at each location. The work also includes site clearing, tree and plant removal and replacement, native landscaping, erosion and sediment control, earthwork, concrete paving, pathway aggregate, helical-pile design and installation, testing, prevailing-wage compliance, and related construction administration. The successful bidder must provide a 10 percent bid security and, upon award, 100 percent performance and payment bonds, insurance, subcontractor information, and required affidavits. A mandatory pre-bid meeting is required for eligibility to bid. The project manual states substantial completion is required by May 31, 2027. Addendum #2 updates the bid form to include a blank for the number of days for Alternate No. 1, which concerns concurrent construction of the north and south platforms.
