NASA's Wallops Flight Facility is conducting market research regarding the potential development of additional orbital launch capacity on approximately 150 acres at the south end of Wallops Island, Virginia. NASA intends to retain ownership of the land and may lease parcels for the development, operation, and maintenance of launch infrastructure. Existing suborbital programs may be relocated to Launch Area 3 to accommodate the expansion, and the opportunity excludes the Virginia Spaceport Authority's existing 118-acre leasehold. Responses should describe the proposed concept and operations, land footprint, safety considerations, site development, utilities and infrastructure needs, launch frequency, staffing, security requirements, vehicle class, and relevant experience constructing, operating, and maintaining launch infrastructure. This is a request for information for planning purposes only, not a solicitation for proposals, bids, or quotations; NASA will use responses to assess market interest and determine whether to issue a future competitive announcement.
