Description
The City of South Bend is soliciting bids for Contract #01, a complete structural glued-laminated timber (glulam) package for an outdoor bandshell. The scope includes delegated engineering and design of the glulam members and concealed connections; supply, fabrication, and erection of the timber framing; tongue-and-groove roof decking; connectors and hardware; finishes and sealers; temporary bracing; and moisture protection. The contractor must also coordinate rigging points and provide engineered calculations and shop drawings. Exposed glulam surfaces must meet the specified architectural appearance and structural performance requirements. Bidders must submit the contract-specific bid proposal form, Indiana State Form 96, bid security, the City's Responsible Bidder Checklist when the bid exceeds $250,000, and the non-collusion affidavit. Bid security is 5% of the bid amount when required; the successful bidder must provide 100% payment and performance bonds. The bid package also identifies certified payroll requirements and project safety and quality obligations. Bids must be submitted by email with the bid title and contract number in the subject line.
