Description
The project involves removing and replacing an existing bridge with a new prestressed-concrete bridge, along with associated abutments, sidewalks and pedestrian ramps, roadway reconstruction, stormwater improvements, guardrails, fencing, erosion controls, and site restoration. Work also includes replacing the city water main and suspending an insulated ductile-iron section beneath the new bridge. The bridge/site work and water main work are priced under separate bid schedules; bidders must submit prices for both, although the County may choose to award only the bridge and site-work schedule. The solicitation includes construction plans, water-main plans, a project manual, a geotechnical report, permit authorization, and slope-easement documents. The bid must include a bid security equal to 10% of the maximum bid price, the completed bid schedules and signature/addenda-acknowledgment pages, bidder information and qualifications, DBE good-faith-effort documentation, and a debarment certification. The project requires at least three comparable bridge-replacement projects completed within the past five years, relevant water-main experience, and specified experience for the superintendent and project manager. The work is to be substantially complete by January 31, 2028.
