Description
The USDA's Food and Nutrition Administration (FNA) is seeking applications for the SNAP Fraud Framework Implementation Grant Program. This program aims to support State agencies in enhancing their efforts to prevent, detect, and investigate fraud within the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Up to $5 million is available in Fiscal Year 2026, with individual grants ranging from $150,000 to $750,000. The grants are intended to help State agencies implement practices outlined in the SNAP Fraud Framework, addressing emerging fraud threats such as EBT card skimming and other electronic benefit theft schemes. Applicants are encouraged to focus on projects that improve fraud detection, strengthen identity verification, and enhance system processes. Eligible applicants are State agencies that administer SNAP. County-administered agencies must provide a letter of commitment or endorsement from the relevant SNAP agency. Each State agency may submit only one application. The grant funds can be used for various activities including personnel, contractors, equipment, supplies, travel, and training, all aimed at improving program integrity. The grant period of performance is anticipated to be from September 2026 to September 2029.
