Description
This STTR topic seeks a scalable, cost-effective method to produce large-area ensemble films from two-dimensional polymers (2DPs), including covalent organic frameworks, with precise control over structural evolution, layer alignment, domain size, thickness, functionality, orientation, interlayer interactions, and flaw tolerance. The proposed process should address defects such as point and stacking defects, pinholes, residual solvent or reactant contamination, and crystallite-size variation. It should be suitable for roll-to-roll processing or a related approach capable of producing continuous films, while supporting mechanically robust, high-quality films with useful pore access and controlled long-range order.
