Description
The State of Utah Division of Wildlife Resources, through the State of Utah Division of Purchasing, is soliciting a prequalified contractor to provide mechanical mastication services for approximately 1,326.7 acres of pinyon, juniper, and oak vegetation. The work is intended to reduce wildfire hazards and restore treatment areas to a mosaic pattern with varying vegetation densities and untreated leave islands. The contractor must furnish labor, supervision, transportation, operating supplies, and at least two fully operational Bullhog-type mulching machines with qualified operators. Work includes mechanically severing and shredding specified live and dead vegetation, maintaining treatment boundaries and leave islands using GPS-capable equipment, controlling slash depth, protecting drainages and cultural resources, restoring damaged access roads, and complying with environmental and site-access requirements. The contract is limited to contractors on the current State of Utah Rangeland Prequalification List, will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, and must be completed by February 28, 2027.
