Description
The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) is issuing an Expression of Interest (EOI) to identify Elders and Elder Helpers interested in providing Indigenous cultural support and guidance to offenders in federal institutions within the Prairies Region. Elders will offer counselling, teachings, traditional ceremonies, and spiritual services to Indigenous offenders, supporting their healing journey and reintegration. Elder Helpers will assist Elders by coordinating ceremonies, ensuring proper protocols, and providing counselling when Elders are unavailable. Both roles require recognition by their Indigenous community, a minimum of five years of experience in delivering spiritual and cultural services, and familiarity with traditional ceremonies and protocols. CSC will provide facilities, resources, and orientation to support the contractors.
