Description
The St. Clair County Transit District is soliciting sealed bids for the complete removal and replacement of the existing treated wood deck and nailers on the S. McKinley bike trail bridge at approximately MetroLink Mile Post 31.78 and SCCTD Mile Post 8.2 in Belleville, Illinois. The contractor must furnish all labor, materials, equipment, construction layout, disposal, protection of existing facilities, traffic control, and other work necessary to complete the project in accordance with the project bridge plans and applicable Illinois Department of Transportation standards. The scope includes mobilization, deck demolition, deck replacement, and bridge-cone tree and brush clearing. Bidders must be prequalified by the Illinois Department of Transportation in Category 1—Earth Excavation, comply with Illinois prevailing-wage requirements, provide a project labor agreement, and ensure contractor and subcontractor employees complete Metro Tier One safety training. The contractor must complete the work by February 28, 2027, with work commencing within 10 days after award or as otherwise directed. Addendum No. 1 revises the proposal and special provisions to omit all bond requirements, updates the traffic control plan, and requires bidders to acknowledge and attach the addendum to their bids.
