Description
The National Institute of Justice is seeking grant applications for foundational, retrospective research examining gender dysphoria, its treatment, and the perpetration of violence and violent behavior. Proposed work may include secondary data analyses, meta-analyses, and pre-study assessments addressing prevalence, demographic and offense characteristics, post-conviction populations, diagnosis or treatment relationships, victim-offender overlap, contextual factors, and comorbid substance-use or mental-health conditions. Primary data collection is not responsive. Evaluation proposals must include cost-benefit and cost-effectiveness analyses. Applicants must submit a complete application through the required federal systems, including a proposal narrative, budget, biographical sketches, current and pending support forms, and applicable research, disclosure, assurance, and data-management materials. The proposal narrative is limited to 30 pages, excluding specified title-page, table-of-contents, figures, and appendix materials, and must be double-spaced in 12-point font with one-inch margins and numbered pages. The anticipated total funding is $1,000,000, with awards anticipated by January 1, 2027, and performance periods of up to 36 months.
