Description
The University of California, Los Angeles, is prequalifying prospective prime contractors for a lump-sum renovation of approximately 11,985 gross square feet of vacant office space in the Gayley Center. The renovated space will become a Real Time Safety Center supporting campus safety and security operations and serving as the venue command post for the 2028 Summer Olympics and Paralympics. The estimated construction cost is $4,237,000, and bidders must hold a California B (General Building) contractor's license. Work includes interior demolition; wall, ceiling, and finish modifications; data conduits and cabling; power provisions and dedicated server racks; rooftop mechanical units and piping modifications; an automatic transfer switch; electrical connections for a future temporary generator; and modifications to fire alarm, fire sprinkler, building automation, mechanical, and electrical systems. Construction must be coordinated with building occupants to minimize disruption. Prequalification submissions are due November 12, 2026, by 3:00 p.m.; they may be delivered as hard copies to the University's Contracts Administration office or uploaded to the UCLA Planroom.
