Description
North Shore Fire Department is requesting proposals from qualified public accounting firms for independent audit services and related accounting consultation for fiscal years 2026 through 2030. The scope includes annual audits of the Department’s financial statements and funds; Federal Single Audit work when required; State of Wisconsin Single Audit or other state audit procedures when applicable; audit journal entries; management letters; ACFR review and assistance; support for GFOA financial reporting recognition; and routine consultation concerning accounting, financial reporting, GASB implementation, budgeting, and audit preparation. The selected firm must conduct the work under applicable professional and governmental auditing standards, present annual results to the Board of Directors, provide electronic final reports and a management letter, and retain audit work papers for at least seven years. Proposals must include firm qualifications, governmental audit experience and references, audit approach, quality-control and peer-review information, engagement-team qualifications, licensure, data-security practices, pricing, and any exceptions. The engagement is expected to begin upon execution of the agreement, with final audit reports due within 120 days after each fiscal year-end unless an alternative schedule is approved.
