Description
Hennepin County is soliciting a low-bid construction contractor for rehabilitation of the Hennepin Avenue (CSAH 52) suspension bridge over the Mississippi River in Minneapolis. The scope includes mill and overlay work; concrete wearing course and structural slab repairs; expansion-joint and bearing replacement; cable re-wrapping and sealing; cable-band bolt inspection and re-tensioning; anchorage dehumidifier, sump-pump, and gasket replacement; tower and stiffening-girder sealing; stone masonry veneer repair; structural-steel painting; suspender-rope cleaning and painting; lighting, signs, delineators, and traffic-control work; and associated environmental, safety, access, and restoration activities. The contractor must maintain traffic and pedestrian access in accordance with staged restrictions, perform work over the river with required containment and lifesaving equipment, comply with prevailing-wage and environmental requirements, and provide performance and payment bonds. The project includes Hennepin County participation goals of 10% SMBE and 10% SWBE, a 10,911-hour Workforce Entry Program good-faith-effort goal, and 32% minority and 20% women workforce participation goals. Electronic submission through ProcureWare is required, including the title sheet, two-page electronic Proposal Form, Non-Collusion Declaration, and Responsible Contractor Verification and Certification with the first-tier subcontractor list.
