Description
The City of Miami Beach is establishing a pool of prequalified general contractors to perform minor construction projects for City departments. Eligible applicants must be State of Florida Certified General Contractors, State of Florida Certified Building Contractors, Miami-Dade County Licensed General Contractors, Miami-Dade County Licensed Building Contractors, or hold an acceptable alternative license supported by documentation. Potential work may include general construction, concrete slab sawing and core drilling, decorative concrete and masonry, fencing, doors, drywall, finish carpentry, flooring, insulation and acoustical tile, lathing and plastering, lawn sprinkler systems, swimming pool piping, gasoline tank and pump work, roof decks, and structural steel erection. Inclusion in the pool does not guarantee work; project-specific service orders will be quoted separately. Applicants must submit the prequalification application, proof of applicable licensure or certification, proof of at least $500,000 bonding capacity from an A-rated Financial Class V surety company, and at least five minor-construction project references. Prequalified status is valid for five years from the notice of prequalification.
