Description
The City of Norwalk is soliciting bids for construction work involving the removal and replacement of 80 ADA-compliant curb ramps, installation of cast-in-place yellow truncated-dome detectable warning surfaces, incidental asphalt pavement work, sidewalk and curb-and-gutter reconstruction, and traffic control. The base bid includes approximately 80 curb ramps and 1,000 square feet of ADA sidewalk reconstruction; an additive schedule includes 48 additional curb ramps and 500 square feet of sidewalk reconstruction. The estimated cost of work is approximately $500,000. The project is federally assisted through Community Development Block Grant funding and is subject to Davis-Bacon and related prevailing-wage requirements, Build America, Buy America requirements, Section 3 participation benchmarks, California public-works requirements, and Department of Industrial Relations registration. Bidders must submit the completed bid package and required federal certifications, references, superintendent resume, subcontractor designations, safety records, bid security, and non-collusion documents. The selected contractor must complete the base work within 60 working days after Notice to Proceed 2; the additive schedule, if awarded, adds 20 working days.
