Description
The City of Los Angeles Harbor Department is soliciting one new Caterpillar C18 marine propulsion diesel engine, EPA Tier 3 rated, with 477 ekW/775 bhp at 2,100 RPM and a heat-exchanged cooling system. The engine package must include the specified Caterpillar components and accessories, including a 24-volt electrical system, marine engine control panel, charging alternator, air cleaner, electric starting motor, mounting supports, English literature, commercial finish, storage preservation, and marine propulsion analysis. The engine must be new, unused, current model, compatible with existing Department equipment, and built to the complete original factory specifications of engine serial number TNA05600. The bidder must be an authorized distributor or dealer for the quoted manufacturer, or submit a formal manufacturer certification covering warranty claims. Prices must include delivery and related charges, excluding sales tax. The bid package must include the completed bid form, Form 50 (Bidder Certification), Form 55 (Prohibited Contributors), the Local Business Preference Program affidavit and contractor description form, and any required addenda or technical data for an alternate product. The bid must be submitted in a sealed envelope to the Los Angeles Harbor Department Purchasing Office by the stated deadline.
