Description
Fairfax County is soliciting proposals to establish one or more contracts through competitive negotiation for as-needed, turnkey electrical and emergency power systems installation and/or replacement at County-owned and operated facilities. Work may include power distribution, wiring, grounding, lighting and lighting controls, electrical services, switchgear, transformers, solar electrical generation, generators, automatic transfer switches, UPS systems, fuel systems, testing, commissioning, permits, shop drawings, and as-built documentation. Repairs and preventive maintenance of existing systems are excluded. Contractors must provide construction management software, project management, qualified electrical personnel, emergency response capability, safety and quality-control documentation, and bonding capacity up to $5 million. The contract is expected to run from award through April 29, 2028, with two additional one-year renewal options. Fairfax County estimates first-year expenditures at $5 million. Projects of $500,000 or more require performance and labor-and-materials payment bonds equal to 100% of the project price, and a Virginia Class A Contractor license is required. This is a resolicitation of RFP 2000004067 to establish additional contract capacity and a broader pool of qualified contractors.
