Description
The Department of the Interior, through the Interior Business Center on behalf of the National Park Service's Historic Preservation Training Center, is soliciting a firm-fixed-price contractor to design, engineer, erect, maintain, and dismantle OSHA-compliant scaffolding for the approximately 100-foot-tall Chalmette Monument. The work includes engineered stamped shop drawings, a self-supporting non-destructive scaffold design, debris netting, staging platforms, water-tank platforms, an integrated stair system, overhead protection, a designated hoisting bay, and a contractor-supplied 1-ton electric hoist. The scaffold must support access for hand cleaning, masonry repointing, and stone repairs while protecting the historic structure. The contractor must provide labor, materials, equipment, supervision, travel, mobilization, demobilization, permits, safety compliance, inspections, and maintenance during the approximately three-month masonry repair period. The period of performance is 150 days from notice to proceed, with anticipated site turnover on January 19, 2027. Quotes require separate technical and price volumes, including a schematic scaffold plan, installation schedule, mobilization and site protection plan, relevant past-performance projects, Standard Form 1442, the provided pricing spreadsheet, and evidence of bonding capability.
