Description
The New York State Canal Corporation seeks a contractor to clear brush, shrubs, vines, invasive vegetation, saplings, and trees from the aqueduct structures and a continuous 15-foot corridor on each side. Work includes applying approved herbicide to stumps and areas prone to regrowth, removing and disposing of vegetative debris, protecting the structures and waterways, controlling erosion, and restoring disturbed areas with topsoil, seed, and mulch. Glyphosate is prohibited on state property. The contractor must provide labor, equipment, materials, and supervision; coordinate trail safety and closures; and obtain a work permit before starting. Before work begins, the contractor must submit a site-specific job hazard analysis, fall-protection plan, work plan, herbicide-spraying plan, and herbicide submittals for approval. The proposal must include separate lump-sum cost estimates and estimated construction durations for each location, with labor priced at prevailing wage rates. Work must be completed within 90 days of permit issuance or by May 1, 2027, whichever comes first.
