Description
The U.S. Air Force requires four wire harness braiding machines: two 32-carrier systems and two 24-carrier systems. Machines must comply with the approved specifications in NAVAIR 17-5-10, Technical Order 1-1A-14, or Boeing PS17115.2 REV AF, and must be compatible with vinyl-coated textile and metal braiding materials. Approved models are the Cobra 450 WC-24C-P1, Cobra WC-32-P1, Wardwell B10-24H, and Wardwell B10-32H. Required features include motorized pulley and guarded drive systems, overload detection, low-voltage stop motion with indication, 220V single-phase 60 Hz electrical service, adjustable-height center tubes, automatic lubrication, warranty and customer support, and braiding materials procurable through the USAF supply system. The contractor must include shipping and provide all specialized tooling needed for setup and installation, while the Government will perform the installation. The contractor must repair or warranty defective equipment and provide technical support online or by telephone. Delivery is required within 140 calendar days after award. The acquisition is a total small-business set-aside and is justified as a brand-name or sole-source requirement for the approved equipment.
