Description
Hennepin County is soliciting electronic bids for reconstruction and multimodal safety improvements at the intersection of CSAH 152 (Brooklyn Boulevard) and Welcome Avenue. The work includes roadway and pavement removal, excavation, aggregate base, bituminous paving, concrete sidewalks, curb and gutter, curb ramps, truncated domes, storm sewer and drainage structures, valve-box and casting adjustments, irrigation removal, erosion control, turf establishment, and pavement-marking removal and installation. The project also includes traffic control, alternate pedestrian routes, portable changeable message signs, traffic signal system removal and installation, accessible pedestrian signals, video detection, traffic management cameras, lighting, and related electrical work. The solicitation establishes a 10% Disadvantaged Business Enterprise goal, requires a 5% bid bond, and requires payment and performance bonds each equal to the contract amount. The estimated project cost is $2,004,678, and construction is scheduled to begin in 2027 with completion required by September 30, 2027.
