Description
The City of Cape Girardeau is soliciting bids for the relocation of approximately 321 linear feet of sanitary sewer force main at Fountain Street and Elm Street. The work includes approximately 188 linear feet of 24-inch HDPE force main installed by open cut, approximately 133 linear feet installed beneath BNSF Railroad tracks within a 36-inch steel casing by jack and bore, connections to the existing system, abandonment and grouting of existing force main, excavation and restoration, traffic control, erosion and sediment control, and flexible pavement repair. The project also requires coordination with BNSF Railway, railroad inspection and flagging, dewatering, utility verification, construction sequencing, applicable prevailing-wage and worker-authorization compliance, and submission of required bid certifications and affidavits. A 5% bid security is required; performance and payment bonds, insurance, and other contract security are required from the successful bidder. The contract provides for substantial completion within 120 days and final completion within 150 days after the Contract Times commence.
