Description
University City is soliciting sealed bids for removal of the existing Kempland Place bridge crossing River Des Peres and construction of a replacement bridge. The work includes removal of nearby pavement, curbs and gutters, sidewalks, and storm sewers; excavation; steel pile driving; new bridge end bents; bridge construction using steel or prestressed concrete beams; pedestrian fencing; stormwater pipes and inlets; asphalt pavement; striping; paved approaches; and related incidental work. A 5% bid security is required. Bidders must be on the Missouri Department of Transportation Qualified Contractor List and have a fully responsive contractor questionnaire on file with the Missouri Highway and Transportation Commission at least seven days before bid opening. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder. The DBE contract goal is 0%, and there is no on-the-job trainee goal. The anticipated notice to proceed is January 2027.
