Description
The U.S. General Services Administration is conducting market research for a follow-on third-party logistics requirement supporting overseas export operations. The anticipated scope includes receiving ocean, postal, parcel, truckload, and less-than-truckload shipments; inspecting shipments for compliance with applicable federal and Department of Defense requirements; remediating and reporting discrepancies; preparing shipments for domestic and international transportation; consolidating cargo; arranging onward movement; and supporting government disposal and hazardous-material movement. The RFI describes a minimum of two bi-coastal warehouse locations, with hazardous-material certifiers, forklifts, loading doors, ramps, high-cube storage, fire-suppression systems, security or separation cages, and access to a distribution point within 50 miles. Respondents should address hazardous-material certification, warehouse-management-system connectivity, DoD network compliance, ANSI EDI 850 purchase-order receipt, and ANSI EDI 856 shipping-data generation. Responses are for market research only and are not proposals or offers capable of forming a binding contract.
