Description
The Florida Department of Transportation intends to acquire one fully assembled, operational truck-mounted combination auger, core, and rotary boring machine, identified as CME-55 or approved equal. The equipment will support soil sampling, foundation testing, monitoring well installation, and subsurface exploration. Required capabilities include hollow-stem auger boring, Shelby tube or continuous tube sampling, standard penetration testing, coring, rotary drilling, and compatibility with current geoexploration methods. The drill unit must be mounted on a 6 x 4 tandem-axle truck and include extensive integrated equipment, including a Tier 4 Final diesel drill power unit, hydraulic rotary and vertical drives, mast and draw works, mud pump and water system, hydraulic hammer, rod holder and breakout device, leveling jacks, drill platform, air compressor, safety shutdown systems, and a Jean Lutz Dialog MX measurement-while-drilling recorder with sensors and software. The unit must be a current standard-production model, delivered ready for immediate operation, with no specification deviations accepted. The purchase includes standard equipment, manufacturer service manuals, warranty coverage, and two days of operational and servicing training after delivery. The estimated dollar amount is $574,195.00, and the agency states that Central Mine Equipment Company is the sole manufacturer of a rig meeting its specifications.
