Description
The State of Missouri is soliciting construction bids for restoration of the historic restroom near the Visitor Center and rehabilitation of the restroom near Thunderbird Lodge at Washington State Park. The work includes interior demolition; new plumbing, electrical, HVAC, fixtures, and finishes; roof replacement; historic masonry, wood, door, and window restoration; asbestos and lead-based paint abatement; and preservation of historic exterior features. The project also includes converting the Thunderbird restroom into a 530-square-foot cabin with a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and living/dining area. Site work includes a new driveway, accessible parking, walkways, stairs, retaining walls, drainage, lighting, and other improvements. Four alternates are included: synthetic shake shingles, stone sills and countertops, field-stone retaining walls, and relocated service equipment. The work is to be completed within 130 working days, with liquidated damages of $1,000 per working day for late substantial completion.
