Description
The City is soliciting a one-year requirements contract for nutritional supplements, awarded by class. The bid includes five product categories: vanilla high-protein/high-calorie supplement powder in No. 10 cans; unflavored whey protein supplement packets; high-protein, low-fat nutrition shakes; high-protein French vanilla nutritional drink packets; and peanut-butter/dark-chocolate protein bars. Bidders must bid on every item in the class and provide unit pricing, material costs, quantities per case or box, and the offered brand or manufacturer. Brand-or-equal products are permitted, but equivalent-product documentation must establish compliance with the specifications. Products must meet detailed nutritional, labeling, packaging, shelf-life, food-safety, and delivery requirements. Bidders must submit food labels, nutritional information, packaging details, applicable New York State sourcing documentation, and any applicable halal or kosher certifications. The response must also include a preliminary Good Food Purchasing sourcing-data report in Excel or another acceptable machine-readable format, along with information demonstrating at least two years of similar food-supply experience and three government or comparable references. Deliveries will be made according to agency purchase orders and delivery matrices, generally to locations throughout New York City, with the primary listed location at the Department of Correction's Rikers Island Central Freezer.
