Description
This Request for Information concerns unlimited on-call emergency repairs and annual inspection and alignment for government-owned Okuma machine tools, including additional Okuma equipment installed during the contract period. The scope includes labor, tools, diagnostic and test equipment, transportation, schematics, documentation, maintenance supplies, repair parts, software and parameter adjustments, coolant-tank inspection and cleaning when necessary, and machine inspection reports. Repairs must use new original-equipment-manufacturer parts or certified equal-quality replacements, with replacement parts subject to Contracting Officer approval. Contractor personnel must be experienced and highly trained in operating, maintaining, and servicing the equipment in accordance with OEM procedures, with hands-on Okuma repair and maintenance experience and required certifications and training. Emergency support requires acknowledgment within 24 hours and an on-site repair technician within 72 hours of initial notification. Annual alignment work includes detailed tolerance and performance checks, adjustments, measurement documentation, and delivery of software or parameter changes on a CD. The anticipated period of performance is May 2027 through May 2032, and the RFI requests a capability statement with similar past-performance examples, a recommended contracting strategy, and responses addressing pricing information, transition planning, requirement definition, and other concerns.
