Description
Volusia County is soliciting a contractor to reconstruct the storm-damaged Seaview Avenue vehicular beach access ramp in Daytona Beach. The work includes mobilization and demolition; excavation, grading, dewatering, and compaction; composite sheet-pile bulkhead and retaining-wall construction with concrete caps; concrete plugs and chemical grouting; reinforced and unreinforced concrete ramps; FDOT Type D curbing; a concrete sidewalk; an on-beach shower and water service; retaining-wall painting; pavement markings and signage; as-built surveying; and site restoration. The contractor must furnish all labor, materials, equipment, permits, testing, erosion and sediment controls, maintenance of traffic, vibratory monitoring, and related incidentals. The estimated construction cost is $1,213,413. The contract provides for substantial completion within 120 days after the Notice to Proceed and final completion within an additional 30 days. A five-percent bid bond and separate payment and performance bonds, each equal to 100 percent of the contract price, are required. The solicitation also requires extensive insurance coverage, completion of federal contract provisions, a prime/subcontractor form, construction bid forms, references, proof of insurance, licenses, and other vendor certifications.
