Description
The City of Omaha is soliciting bids for construction of an approximately 450-foot access road to future Fire Station #70 on George Miller Parkway west of 180th Street. The scope includes clearing and excavation; 10-inch concrete pavement and aggregate base; a left-turn median; pavement markings; sanitary sewer service; storm sewer pipe, inlets, junction boxes, manholes, and flared end sections; riprap; erosion and sediment controls; temporary traffic control; and furnishing and installing two traffic signals with a preemption control system. The bid schedule contains 54 line items, including a $5,000 SWPPP maintenance allowance. The project has a 6% reserve for City of Omaha Tier I and Tier II Emerging Small Business and Small Business participants, and eligible participants must be certified before bid opening. Bidders must submit an Economic Sustainability Program Plan, SEB Participation Disclosure Form, Certificate of Compliance, Responsible Contractor Compliance Form, Employee Classification Act Affidavit, bid-submittal entity form, subcontractor/supplier tabulation, Certificate of Insurance, and bid security. The Apprenticeship Incentive Form is optional for bidders seeking the 5% apprentice-utilization incentive. The contractor must self-perform at least 30% of the work, and the contract requires performance and payment bonds after award. The work is to be substantially completed within 40 days after the Contract Times commence and completed for final payment within 70 days.
